Golden Lady Clock and Greys Monument - Newcastle

I like public clocks and up and down the country there are many to be found.
This magnificent example can be found in Newcastle City Centre. It is called The Golden Lady Clock and it is above the Northern Goldmiths Store.
In the background you can see Grey's Monument a Grade I listed monument to Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey. It was  built in 1838 to acclaim Earl Grey for the passing of the Great Reform Act of 1832 and stands at the head of Grey Street. It consists of a statue of Lord Grey standing atop a 130 feet (40 m) high column.
